    With summer activities and the Independence Day holiday coming up, we will be cancelling the next two squadron meetings.  Our next meeting will be on July 11th.

  • Arlington Cadets learn Intro to Robotics with droid from Star Wars (4/29/2018)


    On April 18th Arlington Composite Squadron was excited to have 2nd Lt Justin Strait, Assistant Aerospace Education Officer and R2 Builder, give a STEM presentation on Intro to Robotics lesson 1: “What is a robot?” from the CAP Intro to Robotics curriculum. Cadets discussed and learned what makes a machine a robot; identified several different robots and the tasks that they do; and learned how and why engineers design robots to do specific tasks. For this presentation 2nd Lt Strait brought in his personally built R2-Q5 droid from Star Wars to enhance the lesson.

    April 15 news was received from Ft Pickett that the combined Arlington Composite Squadron-Challenger 1 Cadet Squadron (Charlington) Cadet Competition Team had placed 2nd at the Middle East Region Cadet Competition! The team is headed on to participate at the National Competition in Dayton, Ohio June 28 – July 3.
